The primary objective is to perpetuate, integrate, preserve and promote 'Tamil Culture and Language' while providing essential support and resources to Tamil people in Fort McMurray (RMWB) region. We also aim to build a vibrant and dynamic Tamil network in Fort McMurray that celebrates our cultural identity and contribute positively to the multiculturalism.

The society also aims to bring together Tamil Origin and Tamil speaking people by organizing events like Tamil New Year Celebrations, Cultural Showcases (Folk Arts, dance, drama, classical Tamil music, songs etc.,) and conduct Tamil Language Classes to young children to preserve and promote Tamil traditions.

This newly formed Tamil Sangam also acts as a support network for Tamil Newcomers - providing assistance with settlement and navigating new environments. Also, aims to undertake humanitarian and charitable activities.

Furthermore, this Tamil Sangam aims to cultivate the culture and belief of giving back to community (among all the Tamil members of the community) by carrying out several charitable works like spring/ fall community clean-up, adopting trails and beautifying the neighborhood, helping elderly persons driveway snow removal, volunteering and providing aid during emergencies or provide support for community development projects like proper waste segregation/ recycling awareness, health and fitness classes (Yoga) for youth and adults, encouraging amateur games and exercises etc.,
